Baudelaire

Baudelaire Socks from Knitty. The lace pattern shows up better in person. The colors kind of take over this picture, huh? The yarn: Sockotta, which is a cotton/wool/nylon blend.

These are so comfy and a nice burst of color to combat the winter doldrums.

Amazingly, I finished these Sunday evening and I have not cast on another pair of socks yet. I pretty much constantly have a pair of socks on the needles. But, there is a skein of yarn with some needles poked in it and a pattern behind me on the table. Now, how did those get there? *whistling innocently*

I know many kntters suffer from Second Sock Syndrome (SSS). Luckily, I do not have this problem. In fact, the second sock usually goes very quickly. I want to get those babies on my feet! I love the feeling of finishing something and seeing what a job well-done looks like. The first sock in this pair took about a week or week-and-a-half. The second sock was cast-on Friday evening (moments after the first sock was done) and completed Sunday evening. And I wasn't working on it constantly. I hosted a little Super Bowl party (and did not knit during it) in the meantime. That's two days, people! Ooh, I love the feeling of hand-knit socks on my feet.

A little real-estate update. We have chosen a new agent. We are optimistic. He seems really good, hands-on, involved and down-to-earth. He is going to be putting up a much more comprehensive listing for us and seems like a good communicator, willing to work hard to make the sale. So, I'm cleaning even deeper the next few days so that the pictures he's taking Friday for the web listing will sparkle. When we told our old agent (OK, his staff . . . if I hadn't seen him in person once I would doubt he exists) that we were not renewing our listing with them. They said, "OK, we'll come pick up our sign in the next couple days." They seemed utterly unconcerned. We made the right choice.

Pllbtt! I'm so jealous of your lack of SSS ;) I love the socks! I just listened to Lime and Violet today where Miss Lime said she can't get started on the second one of her Baudelaires...

I have yet to go to a fancy design sock, I'm stuck on k2p2 rib.

Oh, it's going to be so much better with the right agent. Good for you.

And again, I wish I had the sock mojo. I just don't. In fact, I'm not knitting much at all lately. . .

Great socks! Sounds like you made a really excellent decision to go with a new realtor - my fingers are crossed that you'll have a great offer soon!

Those socks are fantastic! I hope this new agent manages to sell the house for you!

LOL @ Second Sock Syndrome. I have heard tell of this. I have a feeling if I ever got into knitting enough to make a pair of socks, I, too, would suffer from the perils of SSS. But doesnt matter. I'd wear 'em anyway...mismatched or not. :P Those look really nice and comfy! In the meantime, I think I'll just stick to weaving and spinning. I'm not sure I can afford another addiction.
